We told you this one would roll on and things progressed since last week; both O2 and Orange have issued statements about their thoughts on the n97 and Skype deal.
O2 told ITPro.co.uk that they are:
“working with Nokia to understand the service and the business model. Our aim is to make people’s lives easier and we are embracing all sorts of new applications and services on mobiles.”
Orange went on to say they have:
“already embraced VoIP services in Europe and is Europe’s leading VoIP provider with over six million subscribers…Orange is continually finding ways to bring applications and mobile services to our customers through our own innovation or through partnerships. Because we are closest to the customer, we will only do this when we can promise the best customer experience”
So far 3 are the only network that have embraced Skype on their handsets with both their Skypephone and their INQ1 phones.
